EMPOWERMENT STRATEGY
Davill Recruitment strives towards being customer focused. Operating with integrity, working together as a team and working enthusiastically together will make us an on-going responsive, global provider bringing success to our clients, investors, candidates, suppliers and partners.
We strive towards addressing the economic imbalances
of past legacies by subscribing to the South African policy of Black
Economic Empowerment. This is aimed at redressing past imbalances by
seeking to substantially
We are, by definition, a “black powered company” in that at least 25.1% of the company is owned by black persons and where there is substantial management control. Ownership refers to economic interest whilst management refers to executive directors. In addition, currently 50% of the directors and employees are black people.
It is also our company policy to breach the divide between previously disadvantaged South African’s and the labour market by creating an environment of interaction between the two. Where possible, we are working with our clients to overcome the current imbalance and give preference on both temporary and permanent placements to previously disadvantaged individuals. This will enable us to assist the government and its goal of substantially increasing black participation at all levels in the economy.
Although there are a significant number of agencies and consultancies, the level of unemployment is high. Within South Africa 27.4 million are of working age and, of these, 7.7 million are unemployed (SA Labour Force Survey 2001). It is evident that there are many jobs available, but the matching of candidate’s skills to employer’s requirements can and should be improved. Our management and recruitment expertise, as well as our ability to provide training to improve skill levels, should provide the opportunity for competitive success.
